NAPOWRIMO Day 8 - nature observations

We point west, every window looks out on a water park.
We walk in spring morning grass; collect dew on shoes.
The tree's shadow is a batch of newborn dark black spiders
outlined against a chartreuese lawn. The sun is warm on our backs.

We walk along the retaining wall above the park.
Breathe, for here the breaths are cool-crisp-clean.
Azure above and not a cloud.

Whatever the species of these bushes, they all bloomed overnight.
Large white petals, another species small purple knots. One species
with paper-like two-inch flowers that feel waxy-soft
against our hands.

Smell, ohhhh, not jasmine; a lighter scent.

Here's a violet, nibble.
