NAPOWRIMO Day 9 - person poem

Gregor Mendel

For over twenty years I thought my book would make a difference,
help the community understand. These people have inherited
intelligence, why can’t they recognize traits? Is it that I am a monk?
No, a small handful of my high school students understand.

Location, weather, drought or flood do not influence the plant.
A pea is like its parent, a mouse is as dominant
as its parents may be dominant. I knew the bees,
their habits and traits. I know the stars in a different manner.
