NAPOWRIMO Day 11

A Cherry Tree

Robins scold with screetches to protect the fruit
that puckers human mouths with sour juice.
Each blossom holds the subtle scent of spring
in petals softer than a baby’s skin.
The big surprise unfolds as petals fall
to reveal the sheen on leaves the loveliest of all.
